- Focus on pleasure vs. fulfillment

Lust of the eyes; take what you want

- Focus: taking vs giving

Pride of life; be who you want

- Focus is on your rights: _I deserve this_

- The opposite of the pride of life: humility

_“The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of the God lives forever._[I John 2:17

1. You are set apart FROM the world

_They do not belong to the world any more than I do._ (v 14b)

2.You are apart FOR the world

_As you sent me into the world,_ _I have sent them into the world._ (v 18)
