II. The problem with prosperity
The greatest trouble is no trouble at all
- Prosperity can cause you to forget God. (Luke 12:13-21
Dt. 6:10-12, Proverbs 30:9)
To see a man humble under prosperity is the greatest rarity in the world. — St Bernard:
- Prosperity can cause you to hitch your heart to something that fades.(James 1:10-11)
III. What our trials do
A. They show us what is temporary.
B. They show us what is real. (I Peter 1:6)
C. They show us what lasts. (James 1:12)
D. They show us what or who we love.
