The Fight to Flourish:  Relationships

Psalm 101:5-7

Review:  Whatever controls your mind, controls your life.

BIG idea:  What you allow into your life is often shaped by WHO you allow into your life.

  1. Who should you allow into your life?
  • I will not tolerate people who slander their neighbors. v5
  • I will not endure conceit and v5b
  • I will not allow deceivers to serve in my house v7
  • My daily task will be to ferret out the wicked and free the city of the Lord from their grip. v8
  1. Three kinds of people[1]
  • Wise – learn from feedback and change when they encounter truth.
  • Foolish – defensive, they blame, they minimize, make excuses, low self-awareness, victims, seek out friends who agree with them.
  • Evil – are envious, divisive, destructive, scheming, and malicious

What do you do?

ADD and FOLLOW – Wise people

BE CAUTIOUS with Foolish people

BLOCK Evil people

Questions for reflection:

  • Is there anyone you need to limit time with?
  • Is there anyone you need to block?

Sometimes saying goodbye is the most loving thing you can say.
