Key verse: “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty. “What are you, mighty mountain? Before Zerubbabel you will become level ground.
We have a tendency to curse our mountains. But mountains make the person.
Don’t despise small beginnings 10
Mountain-moving begins with the Word of the Lord (v.6)
Warren Buffet investment strategy
Instead of talking to God about your problems, talk to your problems about God
Preach the goodness of God
Preach the power of God
Preach the supremacy of Christ
Faith is focus (Numbers 13)
I am God’s child. I am in his hands. As for my body, it was never meant to be permanent. As for my soul, it is immortal. Why then should I be afraid of anything? (Howard Buffet)
Write down, rehearse the promises of God.
We are what we focus on (what we rehearse)
God watches over His Word to perform it (Jeremiah 1:12)
What is the hardest thing that you can believe God for right now? What is the bravest prayer that you can pray?
Submit yourself to God, not to what you are facing
This requires asking yourself hard questions (Revelation 2:2-3, 19-20)
If you do little things like they are big things, God will do big things like they are little things.
Circling your Mountain
One step (decision) at a time
Pray through – pray earnestly – pray hard (James 5:16-18)
What mountain am I facing?
What step do I need to take?
What am I circling that is going to involve a BRAVE prayer?
